OUR STORY
Our Inspiring Origin: A Dedication to Child Cancer Support

Since then, Lavaniyah caring for her daughter as she received medical treatment in Malaysia and Singapore which led her to have close contact with the parents of children with cancer who have not been covered by insurance or financially supported.
Recognizing a need for financial support for families battling cancer and skyrocketing medical bills, in 2022, Lavaniyah founded CCAM a Malaysia-registered charity that provides financial support for the treatment of children with cancer and their caregivers.
WHAT WE DO
Driven With A Noble Mission
The Children Cancer Association Malaysia (CCAM) plays a pivotal role in alleviating the financial burden faced by parents grappling with the high costs of cancer treatment for their children. In Malaysia, many families find themselves financially strained and on the brink of bankruptcy due to the exorbitant expenses associated with cancer care, whether in the government sector or private institutions.
CCAM steps in to bridge this gap, offering financial assistance to ensure that no child is deprived of life-saving treatment due to economic constraints. Through initiatives like charity runs and fundraising events, CCAM collects funds dedicated to covering cancer treatment expenses and purchasing medications not subsidized by insurance or government schemes.

These efforts extend beyond mere financial support; they signify a beacon of hope for families navigating the daunting journey of childhood cancer. By providing tangible assistance, CCAM not only eases the immediate financial burden but also fosters a sense of community and solidarity, empowering families to focus on their child’s well-being without the added stress of financial worries.
Furthermore, CCAM’s initiatives contribute to healing the societal wounds inflicted by treatment poverty.
